An Application click here for the removal of conditions in the title deeds of erfs 306 to 309, Parkwood has been lodged with the City.  These properties are part of the Parkwood Strip.

  • SAPRA have objected as there is very little detail of what is intended by the Application for rezoning and as it is possible that the development will also affect the residential site of the Eastern side of this building. SAPRA would like to know if the developer has considered the impact that this might have on the infrastructure of the suburb.  The Objection may be downloaded by clicking here
  • A subsequent letter from City Power has indicated that they have no objection subject to power being provided by the building owner.  A copy of that letter may be downloaded by clicking here. Letters of approval from both Johannesburg Roads Agency and Joburg Water have also been received.

Notwithstanding SAPRA's Objection to which we received no reponse, a Tribunal hearing was held on 13 March 2024, which was incorrectly constituted as with so many other Tribunal hearings.  SAPRA's objections at the hearing were overruled and the Tribunal has now reported and accepted the Application.  A copy of its decision may be downloaded by clicking here.

February 2025: There has been considerable building activity at street level, which appears to be an upgrading of the petrol garage. Should anyone be able to shead light on what else is happening on this site, please let townplanning@sapra.org.za know.

August 2025: Can it be assumed that the original Application is now null and void having seemingly be superseded by the revamped petrol station (under a changed brand) and the new general-purpose store? For the time being, this case will be closed.
