Joburg City announced that as from Wednesday, 15 July 2020, the City would be opening some parks to enable residents to exercise. This does not, however, include Fearnhead Park.
The notice warns residents to be cautious and vigilant at all time and to follow the mandatory requirements. These requirements may be downloaded by clicking here.
SAPRA has, however, received confirmation from City Parks that Fearnhead park will remain closed as it does not have any gym equipment or jogging track.
The other park in SAPRA land, namely Zoo Lake is open for exercise but we would advise residents that gym and playground equipment are not being sanitised and the risk of picking up the Covid19 virus is an ever present possibility. Proceed with care!
