ADT Newsletter:
November has once again been a positive month as we have seen a general decrease in crime in most areas in Johannesburg.
A total of 51 criminals were apprehended in the Johannesburg region during the month. We also responded to 25 calls where stolen goods were successfully recovered.
We regularly see an increase in crime over the December period and will continue to do everything in our power to protect you and your loved ones. We will be increasing our visibility by doing more pro-active patrolling over the festive season to give you peace of mind.
You can help us by ensuring your security system is in working order. Please make sure you test your alarm system out of peak periods well in advance. If there are any problems please contact our technical department for a service call out before departing on holiday. Our technicians will ensure your security system is working correctly.
Setting your alarm also needs to become a priority, not only at nights but during the day and early evening when you may be entertaining guests in a specific part of the house. Set your alarm even when heading out to do your shopping and make sure you remember to set your alarm when leaving to go on holiday.  If you are away don’t leave your lights on during the day as this is a clear indication to criminals that there is no-one home.
Also don’t forget to download a holiday form from our website (www.adt.co.za) and return it to us with your holiday details before you leave.
Once again we would like to bring to your attention the increased risk of theft and hijackings during December as criminals follow shoppers from malls to their homes. When doing your shopping be vigilant at all times and don’t allow yourself to be distracted as you could easily become a target.  When driving home, be aware of any suspicious vehicles and if in doubt drive to your nearest police station or call ADT on route reporting the suspicious vehicle.
On behalf of all the staff at ADT Security, I would like to wish you a safe, happy and restful festive season.  Roy Rawlins, Managing Director ADT
