Trio Crimes The so called trio crimes consist of business robberies, house robberies and car hijackings and they all involve crime victims coming into contact with armed criminals. These are the crimes that people fear the most and cause the most damage from a variety of perspectives including perceptions of crime and residents sense of well being. In October there were no trio crimes in the Rosebank police precinct but unfortunately we have not been so fortunate in November. The Rosebank detectives have recently arrested a suspect from a 2004 house robbery in Saxonwold after years of diligent police work. This suspect has now been linked to other similar crimes and has been charged and will be tried. Painting of the Police Station The Rosebank police station was looking rather tatty and had not been painted for many years. Funds were raised from businesses in the precinct to fund the first phase of the painting of the Rosebank police station. The first phase painting project has been successfully completed and you will notice that the exterior of the station and the customer service centre are looking much better. Unfortunately the contrast between the newly painted section and the unpainted sections is now rather obvious. Funds are now being sought to initiate the second phase of the painting of the police station in early 2010. Participation in the Community Police Forum Over the last couple of years there has been a steady decline in attendance and interest at the CPF from members of the community. The CPF is a very important mechanism for the community to interact, collaborate and support the police to collectively tackle crime. A plea is made for committed and interested residents to consider joining and participating in the CPF.Bruce Young & Giles Heeger
