Happy (belated) Spring day to all of you!

SXCAP Statistics
There were no incidents of crime this past week in Saxonwold

Call rate
Our call rate increased to 36 this week. That is an increase of 11 calls.
Thank you to those who called in and played a role in increasing the number of calls.
Please continue to be a part of our community thus helping to keep each other safe.

Lessons learnt from other areas:

1. Pedestrian-based crime seems to be on the increase. What this means is that crime is being perpetrated by criminals on foot more than in a car. Whilst we are still asking you to look out for two or more males who seem to be suspicious or look out of place, we are now also  asking you to be extremely vigilant with pedestrian traffic. If anyone looks odd or you simply don't recognise them PLEASE call the ICCC.
The perpetrators seem to be between the ages of 15-25.
Another difficulty is seeeing pedestrians at night - all they need to do is lie down and you won't even notice them. Please be extremely careful and vigilant when driving around at night and when pulling into your driveway. Please really look to see that no-one is hiding in the shubbery. Ensure that you have good lighting in and around your property.

2. We are also hearing about robberies taking place in parking lots. There have been incidents of people returning to their cars from the pharmacy or a place of worship, in this case a synagogue. The incidences have involved 2-3 males and they could have possibly been armed.
Please ensure that you travel/walk in groups. DO NOT WALK ALONE. Be very aware of your public space.

3. Remember if you are in a difficult situation and need urgent assistance you will probably be very nervous and not thinking clearly, if you have these EASY speed dial numbers or voicetags saved already you will be more in control and will be able to contact CAP more readily. Use the CAP number for any emergency: crime, fire, medical. they are quickest to respond and will get a service to you   086 18 000 18

SaxCAP Solution Monitoring feedback
The "offences' noticed by our monitoring patrol this week were:
- 1 resident waited in the driveway for their gate to open. This is an improvement from last week
- 1 open gate
- 3 stationary cars in the street
We have started making contact with these residents and they have been made aware that they placed themselves in a vulnerable position
