The meeting in February’s topic is "What To Teach Children Without Creating Fear".  Many of the attendees are caregivers, most are parents and stacks are grandparents.  This lesson is extremely comprehensive and has many intentions:
1.    All aspects of enlisting children into becoming an integral part of security in their homes and outside their homes without making them fearful.
2.    It is a method of getting the attendees to become teachers of much that many already know, when they teach others what they know they re-remind themselves of all safety measures that need to be taken in and around the homes that they live and work in.
3.    It will also help those that have never attended the lesson given some while back on "Habits and Routines" that need regimenting if we are to prevent crime.
4.    Enlisting the children into the regiment of safety and security will also filter through to the employers.  There is no room for being lax in South Africa with crime still continuing to impact on our country.

Year End Certificate Ceremony 11am Thursday 18th November at
Rosebank Union Church, Hurlingham

-------------------------------------------------------------

The topic for March is “First Aid for any Emergency”.  We have a very special guest speaker, Kelly Robinson (BPharm, MPharm, Dip LC) from Tyrone Pharmacy Parkview who offered to present an in-depth lesson on this critically important topic.  In any kind of emergency we all need to be absolutely clear about what action MUST be taken immediately and the lesson hand out will also give the essential points that could in fact save a life while waiting for the Emergency Medical Services to arrive.

The February lesson on Telephones resulted in 9 criminals being caught by two domestic’s fast thinking and acting and knowing EXACTLY what to do to get the police to the crime scenes immediately.  They were so jubilant at being proactive that they immediately called me to give me the good news!

Our attendance appears to be on the increase again.  This meeting has one of the highest regular attendance levels of the 16 meetings currently being run.  If we maintain this increase in attendance I am convinced we will continue to see a reduction in the crime in the suburbs – this is a numbers game – we need to maintain vast numbers of domestics and gardeners attending and being taught how to prevent crime and how to become an informer to ensure that we see a substantial drop in crime in the suburbs.

Thank you to all who support these meetings and making sure that this email is also forwarded to the residents on your mailing lists.  We continue to search for volunteers to help us at registration, one of the most important aspects of this initiative – specifically for certificate of attendance purposes at the end of the year.
