Our topic for August is “FIRE”!  With countless numbers of unnecessary deaths as a result of fire I have been encouraged and driven to present on this topic for the first time.  We will have the experts from Emergency Medical Services – the Fire Department covering this critically important topic.  Every time I write a new lesson I am bowled over by how much I personally learn.  A three page written lesson hand out will accompany the lesson.  Two families have been devastated by fire in the last month with one family loosing the mother and the two babies in a fire that could have been avoided.  This does not include the horror of the old age home and the displacement and deaths that occurred also during July.  There is no room left in our country for unnecessary deaths!

HELP!  Our Certificate of Attendance Ceremony will be held on Thursday 18th November this year.  I am inviting all the top police including General Bheki Cele from SAPS National, Provincial Commissioners and of course all the Police Station Commanders and many, many more dignitaries to make this year’s function even more spectacular than anything before.  Tickets will be on sale at the upcoming meeting - cost R70 for the function.  I pray the employers will see the merit of affording a ticket for their precious staff; this is the highlight of their year!  Inspiration and motivation is the key to keeping our precious employees hooked into being an integral part of the solution to crime and not a part of the problem.   All tickets must be purchased by no later than the last lesson meeting of the year in October for bus, food, seating, certificates and gift planning.

Disky Dancing:  I am planning to teach the attendees the Disky Dance for the certificate function.  1200 dancing and keeping the South African flag flying and the wonderful energy brought about by the FIFA World Cup is a must, we need to finish this year on a HIGH!  I am searching for one person in the suburb who is able to assist with the teaching of the Disky Dance at the next one or two meetings – all we need is fifteen minutes to get the energy going and get the gist of the dance so that all can participate.  Is there anyone out there who can help teach the Disky Dance at the SAPRA meeting?

Party Bags: Any person able to contribute gifts towards the party bags will be truly appreciated.  This could include anything of any value to any human being, corporate gifts or other.  Any person able to assist in contributing towards these surprises for the attendees should call me personally.  With 19 suburbs attending this year I need to start collating these gifts with immediate effect.

Sincerely
Pens
